Day 3 - 14 April 26 at Sea – Heading Toward Bermuda

Day 3 - 14 April 26 at Sea – Heading Toward Bermuda

Transatlantic Voyage: Tampa to Rome

Hello from the open sea, as we sail toward Bermuda!

I’m really finding my groove on this journey, and today was one of those perfect cruise days where everything just clicks.

A Relaxed and Elegant Start to the Day

I kicked off the morning with a special continental breakfast—simple, elegant, and just what I needed. Fresh pastries, fruit, and a great cup of coffee while watching the endless ocean. There’s something so calming about starting the day this way, without any rush and no obligations but to simply be here.

At 9:00, I went to a lecture called “Underwater Gardens: Tropical Coral Reefs in the Atlantic and Beyond.” It was amazing. Sitting there, looking out over the very ocean we’re crossing, and learning about the hidden ecosystems beneath the surface really added a whole new layer to the voyage. It reminded me that while we enjoy the beauty above, there’s an entire vibrant world below—alive, delicate, and worth understanding.

After the lecture, I headed back to the spa for another round of grooming. I treated myself to a nice shave and some overall grooming. It’s amazing how something as simple as that can make you feel refreshed and reset. The spa is quickly becoming one of my favorite spots on the ship.

Champagne and Celebration

At 12:30, I went to the Captain’s Welcome—a classic cruise tradition and always a special moment. I raised a glass of champagne with fellow passengers as we officially celebrated the voyage ahead. There’s a sense of shared excitement in the room—everyone knowing we’re part of something unique, crossing the Atlantic together.

An Afternoon of Fine Wine and Wellness

Later in the afternoon, I attended a premium wine tasting featuring some of the top brand wines that will be served throughout the cruise. It was an excellent experience—learning about the selections, tasting different profiles, and just enjoying the sophistication of it all. Moments like this remind me how much I enjoy the finer side of cruising.

At 4:45, I made my way to my second acupuncture session—number 2 out of 14. This is part of my commitment to body maintenance during this voyage. I’m approaching it with intention, and I can already tell it’s going to be a meaningful part of this journey.

Connections and a Quiet Evening

Last night turned out to be unexpectedly enjoyable socially. I met two couples—one from Washington, D.C. and another from Minnesota. Both were seasoned, big-time cruisers, and we spent time sharing stories and experiences from our travels. It’s always fascinating to hear how others approach cruising and the places they’ve been.

Tonight, I’ll be dining at the solo table in the main dining room. I actually enjoy these moments—time to reflect, observe, and perhaps meet new people along the way.

The evening entertainment is shaping up to be just as exciting. At 9:00 PM, I plan to attend Celebrity Showtime: Rock City—an epic, stadium-style concert featuring iconic rock anthems performed by the production cast of singers, dancers, and aerialists, with music provided by the orchestra. It sounds like a high-energy show and a great way to cap off the day.

Then at 10:15 PM, I’ll head over to the Late Night Comedy Hour featuring Tony Esposito. I’m looking forward to that. His self-deprecating humor and ability to connect with any audience—from the rowdiest crowd to the most reserved—should make for a fun and relaxed evening. With his Italian-American and Southern roots, I expect some truly entertaining stories.

After everything yesterday, I went back to my room, got undressed, and simply relaxed for the rest of the night. No rush, no noise—just quiet time to unwind.

Reflection – Finding the Cruise Rhythm

Day 3 has reinforced something I always rediscover at sea: this lifestyle is about balance. A little indulgence, a little wellness, meaningful conversations, and quiet personal time.

As we continue heading toward Bermuda, I feel present, relaxed, and fully engaged in the journey.

Also, I will move my clock forward one hour.

And honestly… it just keeps getting better.
