Transatlantic Cruise to Rome April 2026

Day 2 – 13 April 2026 - Settling Into the Rhythm of the Atlantic

Transatlantic Voyage: Tampa to Rome

Good morning from somewhere just off the Florida coast.

I woke up today feeling truly refreshed—something I don’t take for granted. I turned in around 11:00 last night and didn’t open my eyes until about 7:00 this morning. That kind of deep, uninterrupted sleep has been rare for me lately, and I have to say—it felt fantastic. There’s something about being at sea, gently rocked by the motion of the ship, that seems to quiet the mind and reset the body.

A Calm Start, Despite the Rolling Sea

The day has started beautifully. The sun is shining, the sky is clear, and the ocean stretches endlessly in every direction. There’s a slight bumpiness to the sea today—just enough to remind you that you’re crossing real water, not floating on glass—but nothing uncomfortable. In fact, I find it adds to the authenticity of the journey.

We’re making our way around the Florida Peninsula, gradually positioning ourselves for the long crossing ahead into the Atlantic. I’m hoping the seas will settle a bit as we move further along, but even now, there’s a certain charm to the motion. It slows you down, makes you more present.

A Visit to the Spa – Time to Recharge

This morning, I’m heading to the spa—one of my favorite parts of any cruise. There’s something about stepping into that calm, quiet space that feels like entering a different world. I’m planning to get a proper shave—nothing rushed, just a classic, relaxing experience—and I’m also going to explore acupuncture options.

I’ve been thinking more about wellness lately, and this seems like the perfect environment to try something new. A transatlantic crossing isn’t just about the destination—it’s an opportunity to reset, reflect, and maybe even improve a few things along the way.

Looking Ahead to an Afternoon of Indulgence

The afternoon is shaping up nicely. I’ve got a sushi luncheon on the schedule, which I’m really looking forward to—fresh flavors, beautifully presented, and always a treat at sea. There’s something about enjoying sushi while surrounded by the ocean that just feels right.

Later, at 1:30, I’ll be attending an executive wine tasting. That should be a highlight—sampling a curated selection, learning a bit more about the wines, and enjoying the atmosphere. These are the kinds of moments that make a transatlantic crossing feel less like travel and more like a floating experience in fine living.

Reflections – The Journey Has Begun

Day 2 is already reminding me why I love this lifestyle. There’s no rush, no pressure—just a steady unfolding of experiences. Good sleep, good food, a focus on wellness, and the quiet beauty of the open sea.

We’re still early in the journey, but I can already feel myself settling into the rhythm of the ship. Each day will bring something new, and I’m ready to embrace it.

For now, it’s off to the spa—and then onward to sushi and wine.

Not a bad way to spend a day crossing the ocean.
