I was not feeling my best as I entered China. so I decided to stay on the ship and forgo going to the Forbidden City and the Great wall. That said, I did witness a warm welcome as our ship docked in Tianjin.

Rough Seas today. The ship was a rocking.
Seoul, Korea – 5 April 2024
As I stepped off the cruise ship in Seoul, South Korea, I could feel the excitement and anticipation building within me.
The bustling city greeted me with a mix of modern skyscrapers and ancient temples, a perfect blend of tradition and innovation.
My first stop on this journey of discovery was the Changdeokgung Palace Complex, a majestic symbol of South Korea's rich history.
Walking through the palace grounds, I was transported back in time to the era of the Joseon Dynasty.
The intricate architecture and beautiful gardens whispered tales of emperors and courtiers; their lives intertwined with the grandeur of the palace.
I marveled at the meticulous craftsmanship of each building, a testament to the skill and artistry of the ancient builders.

Next, I made my way to the National Museum of Korea, a treasure trove of artifacts and relics that told the story of Korea's past.
From ancient pottery to royal garments, each exhibit painted a vivid picture of the country's cultural heritage.
I found myself lost in the history, eager to learn more about this fascinating land.
My favorite spot in the museum was seeing the two sacred Buddas. These statutes took my breath away.



As the day ended, I ventured to the serene Bongeunsa Temple, a sanctuary amidst the bustling city.
The peaceful atmosphere enveloped me as I wandered through the temple, admiring the intricate pagodas and colorful lanterns.
I paused to meditate, letting the tranquility of the temple wash over me, a moment of stillness during my whirlwind adventure.
From ancient palaces to futuristic skyscrapers, this city was a tapestry of past and present, a place where history and innovation coexisted in perfect harmony.
My journey through Seoul had been a whirlwind of sights and sounds, a kaleidoscope of experiences that had left me spellbound and eager for more.
South Korea had captured my heart, and I knew that this was only the beginning of my love affair with this enchanting land.
Jeju Island, Korea – 4 April 2024
I experienced the natural beauty of Jeju Island with a visit to two of its UNESCO World Heritage sites, before enjoying some local Korean cuisine for a delicious lunch.

My journey began discovery, a unique insight into the lives, activities, and culture of Jadoo’s female divers through photos and other exhibits.
I begin this journey in the Haenyeo Museum, which honors the female divers who dive into the ocean water without using any underwater diving equipment.

Next, I headed to Sunrise Peak, enjoying a tranquil hike up to the peak and marveling at the breathtaking views.

Lastly, I indulged in traditional Korean cuisine, savoring delicious bulgogi or grilled fish and rice at a local restaurant.

My return to Korea
I would love to take you on a culinary journey through the seaside city of Busan, Korea.
Let's start my foodie adventure at Dongnae Market, the largest traditional market in the Yeongnam area.
Here, I can savor Korean rice wine and indulge in a delicious Busan pancake loaded with vegetables and served with a spicy soy dipping sauce.
My next stop will be Haeundae Market, where we can admire the variety of seafood Busan is famous for, from abalones to spoon worms.
